Self-Care is definitely a buzz word at the moment, and one we really believe in. It’s a recognised fact that allowing yourself a little time to do something you enjoy, is good for you. Regularly escaping the grind of the daily routine for a couple of hours to spend an evening with friends or take part in an activity is a great way to forget about the stresses of the day and make you smile. Simply put, making time for you is good for the soul.
So here’s our BAS guide to some indulgent self-care:
1) Learn a new skill
When practising a new skill you become completely absorbed in the moment. Your brain stops focusing on all the stresses of the week and concentrates on the new activity in hand. And there’s a great sense of satisfaction to be gained when you accomplish the task. At a BAS Workshop we teach you all the techniques you need to make your very own bracelet, providing all with the tools and materials needed to while away a few hours happily applying your new skills.
2) Being creative
The simple joy of creating something is recognised as being a great mood enhancer. Often when you are engaged in a creative activity it can seem as if time slows down, allowing you to really soak up the experience of making something special. The artist Picasso is credited as saying “Creativity washes from the soul the dirt of every day life” and we have to agree, there’s a lovely feeling of just being in the moment when immersed in the making process. 3) Dinning Out
Who doesn’t enjoy being served delicious food? The luxury of being cooked for and the pleasure of discovering new tastes and flavours is always a delightful way to spend some time. As Italians we know that good food is an essential ingredient for a great night out and cooking for our guests is always a pleasure. Did you know that we serve an array of hand cooked meals at all our workshops? From Mediterranean feasts to beautifully decadent grazing tables. You won’t go hungry when you’re with us!
4) Spending time with friends
There’s nothing like catching up with friends or meeting new ones to make you feel good. Sharing time and experiences with your girlfriends is the perfect way to unwind and relax. Who hasn’t felt better after an evening spent hanging out with your mates?
We definitely follow our own advice, in fact our workshops were based on the idea of bringing all these elements together; friends, good food and a sprinkling of creativity, all combined to create the perfect evening to escape the day-to-day and dedicate some time to your own self care.
And of course, you end the event with a beautiful bangle created by your own fair hands, now that’s pretty special.
