One of our local friends is a fellow business owner Liz Carr who runs the Saltwater Beach Cafe and SUP paddle boarding school. Here we chat with Liz about her style, motto for life and her beautiful farmhouse in Tuscany.
Introduce yourself, what you do and how BAS collaborated with you?
I’m Liz Carr, mum of two girls and I’m the owner of Saltwater Beach Cafe and La Casa di Pietra. I first met the BAS girls when we were invited to a secret dinner called ‘Bring it to the table’, and that was then start of many collaborations.
Describe your style in 3 words!
This is tricky as I wouldn’t describe that I had a ‘style’ as I often have to dress casually for work, however, maybe eclectic, casual, easy.
What’s your fave BAS piece?
I chose the Fuchsia cocktail ring that looks absolutely fabulous with a large stone fuchsia bangle I made a few years ago at a BAS workshop, it makes a gorgeous colour pop for an outfit.
What’s your motto for life?
Take the chance.
How did you get to doing what you are doing now? What was your journey of have you always been doing what you do?
I worked for 17 years in the City of London as an executive assistant & event organiser (I love projects and organising people!). I then took a career break to have my girls and studied to be a yoga instructor which was a lifelong passion of mine and something I go back to often.
In 2017 the opportunity to take over the dilapidated beach kiosk presented itself, so we then created Saltwater Beach Cafe and Saltwater SUP paddleboarding business shortly followed.
We bought the Italian farmhouse in July 2021 and completed a full renovation a year later. We loved the location being close to so many places to explore but also the tranquility and view of the mountains and now would like to share the experiences with other likeminded families. You can find it here and book directly with us or via AirBnB.
